    Jérôme Dufour is a retired colonel and division head with the French Air and Space Force. He describes in a column written for Apogee the foundations and mission of one of NATO’s newest institutions, the Space Centre of Excellence. Dufour is an aeronautical engineer with 20 years’ experience as a pilot and a background with special forces in Iraq, Afghanistan and Africa.  Featured on Page 46


    Lt. Stephen C. Schroeder is a planner and security cooperation officer with U.S. Space Command’s Joint Integrated Space Team. A naval aviator, he deployed with USNS Robert E. Peary and USS Dwight D. Eisenhower during operations Freedom’s Sentinel, Enduring Freedom and Final Countdown. At USSPACECOM, he supports combatant command planning and security cooperation with allies and partners.  Featured on Page 62
